Tartine (tarts, coffee, hot chocolate,cookies, bread) @Itaewon

by far, one of my favorite in Seoul - Tartine (bakery & cafe)

This cafe was a nice surprise.  It's hidden away from the main street of Itaewon.  This doesn't suit the typical "Itaewon style" and has the cutest decor and food.

BETWEEN - Cafe by day, posh bar at night

BETWEEN is a restaurant/cafe/bar located in Itaewon.

I posted earlier about the sweet side of this restaurant, but at night, it turns to a bar/hangout place where well dressed Koreans and foreigners grab a drink or two. 

Itaewon is usually is known for its bars/night scene, but I prefer their "day scene" where you will see smaller cute cafes, bakeries and eateries. 

Itaewon has both :)

Itaewon: BETWEEN - restaurant & cafe

sometime around almost 2 yrs ago in Itaewon at a cafe/restaurant called BETWEEN.  i remember it being pretty empty around afternoon bc it was a holiday sometime in the fall.  im thinking it was "chuseok~" (i have a not so good memory)..  itaewon was our old hangout spot when we lived around the area.

where have i been

here, right here...^^ sorry for the lack of posts.. but im here!! still enjoying seoul and pursuing to live w sweets forever..



btw, our neighborhood cafe serves the best affogato~ so pretty and tasty!

from finishing school last week and having this break and holiday.. it feels good :) really good! to finally catch a breather and RELAX... ^-^

mainly staying busy playing with our new cellphones, iphone4~~ hehe... it is the best~~~~~ (and i am not tech savvy..but this is the greatest ever! heh..) now im realizing, how did i ever do with out it?!...... ^-^

addicted to coffee

one thing we do splurge on is a good cup of coffee^^ i mean considering how frugal we get sometimes, coffee is in the "necessity" category. we've been getting our coffee fix from LATTE KING~




andrew picked us coffee right before it closed, 10:30sh.. maybe that's why we don't ever get to sleep earlier than 1:30am.. i miss my sleep btw.. going back to school has its pros and cons^^.

now, cappuccino...

hehe.. for a long time, i loved cafe mocha.. that was MY drink~^^ but nowadays, i find myself getting cappuccino.. cappuccino.. yummyumm.. :)

cake from PASSION5. i got this one bc my favorite cartoon character JJANG-GU loves strawberry cakes!^^

well.. it wasn't anything memorable sadly. it wasn't as soft as i expected it to be..tasted like any regular cake from a bakery and the cream wasn't as good.. for a fancy dessert restaurant, this was disappointing. i would give this piece of cake a C- ... :(''

i had so much expectations for this place.. but i guess you can't hide that it is the upper class version of PARIS BAGUETTE.. (what i found out from pastry school..) there's Paris Baguette then Paris Croissant and Passion5... ehh.. (more blabs soon)

small mini pancakes topped with some soft cheese and sweet blueberry stuff. i gagad over it then, but looking it now.. now not so much ^^ the presentation makes it look fancier than what really is :) not that it didnt taste good, but something you and i and anyone can whip at home! woot!!! (school is paying off slowly~... hah... i haven't gone to a dessert cafe to have desserts for a while now..just for coffee and atmosphere :P)

standing coffee

ive talked about "standing coffee" before. it's pretty much a coffee stand near our area. good coffee. i stopped drinking "sweet" coffee for a while (well unless it's good^^), but their chocolate mocha caramel (?) coffee got me back to that sugar coffee. i crave for it sometimes. yes it's sweet, but really good.

flying pan "blue" - cafe in Itaewon

flying pan is our comfort cafe~ ^^ probably one of our first favorites from all of the other ones. it's warm and cozy. it's so easy to get into your own world here..


(they always have fresh flowers towering over your head..)

something about the atmosphere, everytime ive been here, everyone is so engaged in their own conversation, laughing, chatting, lovey doving~.. you don't have to worry about bothering anyone. you can be loud or quiet..happy or sad.. kind of perfect for any occasion~

whether you're catching up with your girl friends over lattes and brunch or a date-like outting^^ this one really hits the spot.


(one thing that hasn't changed (in taste) is my favorite here, MOCHA LATTE)

anyone who knows me know how i really don't like pies...

BUT how that have changed.

I now LOVE LOVE PIES :)
could be my favorite from all the desserts.

i give credit to a pie/bakery cafe called TARTINE in Itaewon.
it's a small bakery shop hidden along the main street in Itaewon.

it's not too sweet and the shop serves excellent coffee and hot chocolate i have yet to try.

let's just say, i would eat here once a week! (to be realistic)..
but i would like to have it everyday?!
