Paris Baguette's bingsu

A "lighter" version of a bingsu from Paris Baguette. 

Most bingu and the more famous ones are "fancy" and "heavier" with many toppings on top, this one is simpler with frozen blue berries and giant seedless grapes as the main toppings. 


Just a few years ago, many bakeries like Paris Baguette have been turning their "bakery" into "cafes" with tables and seats and of course drinks! 

Their coffee drinks are pretty decent and it really depends on who makes it/what store you go to.  Some will have great coffee and some will taste like water.  I've had both from PB before.  Same goes with their baked goods.  Some store will have the best stuff while some will taste like they've been sitting there for a few days.. 

So if you happen to have a bad experience with them, don't be discouraged~^^ not are all the same.

vanilla ice cream - Mobsie

Mobsie Cafe - favorite thus far... except.. except...
that scoop of vanilla ice cream was a big disappointment.

 

You can't dare mix good chocolate with a meh ice cream... :(
It tasted too icy and not vanilla enough.
Something creamier would have better suited the hot chocolate.

Apres-Midi's macarons selection at Shinsegae Department store (Kangnam branch) located in Gosok Terminal station.  The food floor is on the bottom.

Just follow your nose, that's an easy way to put it!

Red Mango - Frozen yogurt (MyungDong)

If you're in MyungDong, do yourself a favor and stop by the Red Mango cafe.

They by far have the freshest and tastiest frozen yogurt.  Their coffee too is at the top.  I think it's of organic beans - I could be wrong about this.  But they have a selection of "organic" drinks and dessert goodies.

It's been a while since hubby and I have been out to a cafe.  We headed for some dessert to one of my newest favorite after a Korean dinner.  This cafe deserves a whole dedicated post.  But for now, this will have to do~^^

Their "waffle & ice cream (of Haagen Dazs) combo with 2 Americano coffee" is 21,000won.  Not bad for a very tasty set of yummies!  Both the coffee and waffle goodness were very very good!  My hubs loved the waffle :)  It's definitely one of the best ones here and who doesn't love a good ice cream from Haagen Dazs!

Ashley buffet restaurant (Gongdeok)

Only a few blocks down exit 3 off Gongdeok station, you will find the newly opened restaurant in this area.  Before this one was a SUBWAY(sandwiches) that just opened this summer (walk down exit 3 until you see it on your left, about a 5mins walk).

Gongdeok used to be kind of boring with just office buildings.  But just this year, a lot of new shops have opened down the road off exit 3.   Another Star Bucks, Ediya coffee, and the most exciting one for us, Ashley buffet!!!  We were diligently waiting for its opening as they were putting the store together.  And finally it opened on August.

Jubilee Chocolatier Cafe (Youido station)

We are in IFC mall at the moment. Hubs is getting his shoulder massage next door while i wait here at Jubilee cafe. It's a chocolatier cafe with chocolate, cake, coffee and chocolate drinks.

Itaewon: BETWEEN - restaurant & cafe

sometime around almost 2 yrs ago in Itaewon at a cafe/restaurant called BETWEEN.  i remember it being pretty empty around afternoon bc it was a holiday sometime in the fall.  im thinking it was "chuseok~" (i have a not so good memory)..  itaewon was our old hangout spot when we lived around the area.

where have i been

here, right here...^^ sorry for the lack of posts.. but im here!! still enjoying seoul and pursuing to live w sweets forever..



btw, our neighborhood cafe serves the best affogato~ so pretty and tasty!

bitter sweet 9 - chocolate shop in Hongdae

at hapjeong, we were wandering around and stumbled across this small chocolate shop... couldnt just pass through it, look how cute it is outside. it was hidden around a corner in a more residential street...



i got shy around wanting to sneak a peek at the small shop.. ^^ but glad we went it bc we found the best hot chocolate~~

i picked these up in shisegae department store~~ you know, i was just browsing around.. but i just cannot get away without buying one sweet thing from there.. that very heavenly area of pastry & desserts... ;)

oh~ and the pleasure of buying the very last box even made the purchase so much sweeter!!

MOSS cafe in ichon (mochi & coffee)

moss cafe has become our resting spot after we get off work (its open till midnight). it's usually pretty busy and we get lucky finding one or two seats empty, but even if it gets too loud, this cafe is different bc it's usually the locals hanging out, so it feels pretty homely :)

strawberry "seng-cream" cake @ Passion5

cake from PASSION5. i got this one bc my favorite cartoon character JJANG-GU loves strawberry cakes!^^

well.. it wasn't anything memorable sadly. it wasn't as soft as i expected it to be..tasted like any regular cake from a bakery and the cream wasn't as good.. for a fancy dessert restaurant, this was disappointing. i would give this piece of cake a C- ... :(''

i had so much expectations for this place.. but i guess you can't hide that it is the upper class version of PARIS BAGUETTE.. (what i found out from pastry school..) there's Paris Baguette then Paris Croissant and Passion5... ehh.. (more blabs soon)
